cinematography and lighting.  in all but a few cases, one cannot live without the other.  both contribute considerably to the emotional response of the audience.  both are a science and an art.  whether we are filming the dramatic, the subdued, or the wonderfully bright and cheery, I get a rush out of well thought out shots paired with expressive lighting!
